Geothermal systems use the energy produced by the sun and stored in the earth for heating and cooling.  This energy is transferred into the home by means of either an open loop (well water) or closed loop (buried loops) system.  This energy source is then transferred and converted with the use of compressors to provide either heating or cooling and domestic hot water.
